End of this semester
This week is the final week of this semester. And all of the assessment are almost finished. It is quite a good sememster for me I think. I have learnt a lot of things in this unit.
This blog will be finisheed on Networked media production ‘part’, but I will continue to write the blog. Blog is a good way to communicate, share and conclude what I have learnt in this unit.
My blog was established for the assessment of the course, but I enjoy it, I can put everything that I like. Maybe because my first language is not English, so It is a little bit difficult to attract audience, but I still have some audience who are not the users of blogger.com. I also have read other’s blog, and I pay more attention to a photographer’s blog. Blog as a social media sevice, it provides user to build a space that their own on the Internet, and communicate with other users, also blog can find and transfer information quickly, it makes the social communication more convenient.
My blog is about our course-Networked media produaction-so far, and if some one else can approach my blog, maybe they can know a little bit knowledge about networked media, such as RSS,HTML and so on.
I will keep writing blog whatever it is about, but it is a good place to say something.
In this unit, I have learnt something new which I am very depresses, such as network. At the beginning, I think web pages just exist, but I never think about where they come from and how to make them. Since I learnt how to use tags to put text, pictures and links into my html, I have a basic idea how it works out. But at the same time, I found out that it is not easy at all to edit a complete web page, especially if you want to attract many people to drop by. Since lack of knowledge about this area, as well as I am a media student, I think it is neccesary for me to work more hard on this part to become a qualified media student.
Hopefully I will keep working hard in the future and learn more theory as well as technique about media. lol………………

Introduction:
I have created a story on Google map that a girl travels around the world in her dream, which seems like a traveling brochures. Photographs and video have been used in this project. In the story, the countries and culture together with local food have been introduced. The destinations were picked randomly since the girl in the dream was traveling by flying. The girl’s images on the Google map were blurred since the story was based on her imagination. Alright. Let us have a nice trip in the girl’s dream.
Organization and Medium Tools:
I researched some pictures from Google about the landscape in those countries, and used Photoshop to put her images into those pictures. When I have done the editing part, I uploaded the pictures on Flickr, which is good for getting the links to those pictures. A video from http://www.youtube.com was referenced in the project as well, in order to show more about those countries.

The plan of my final work
It s quite hard to choose one between datavisualisation and geo-narrative. I wondered to create a drop of water that represent the data of water consumptions from some countries per month in 2009. However, if I make it like an animation, I should have high technological camera and editing skill to do it, which is really hard for me who is only a second year student……
At last, I decide to create a short story on google-map: a girl could go anywhere she wants in the world in her dream. Starting from her room in Canberra, she shows us around the world on google-map, including good food, nice wines, atttactive places and so on. In my google-map, not only photos but also links of videos would show up.
Hopefully it comes out with an interesting ending.
the Happiness!
Sometimes I wonder, deeply, about how immethodical my seasons could’ve gone into. Since I started a life that needs to travel from place to place in a great distance, I don’t have seasons that go from spring to winter any more. Instead, I usually have my summer first and the fall comes after, and the winter, spring and winter again, and then back to summer for a start of next year. Quite interesting, I might jus’ add. Well this year, for something worthy, I’ll get another slight change again – A wedding – my sister’s wedding (please, allow me not to use “cousin” for the reason that we all know.). Honestly, it’s unfortunate and embarrassing for me already that I’ve missed other two of my sisters’ weddings (I’ve got three sisters.). In addition, this is my last sister who’s going to get married. For this undeniable fact, I feel an absence will be far beyond forgiveness this time. Apparently, I was neither old enough, nor wise enough to see and understand the importance of a marriage. This is also the reason why I feel myself fall behind my family. I am not looking for excuses. So I must come back this time, and join this very moment, this beautiful, breath-taking moment which no words can express but the feelings of our own. Not even one single lyric I write dares to fit into its description. I sense this happy moment is gonna be the very thing that keeps me inspired for a long time. I will need it as my experience of life and of course I am looking forward to see both the smile and tears on my sister’s face. So let’s cheer to the happiness!

WORDCOUNT:
It is a datavisualisation about accounting the most frequent words in English. It is a interaction presentation between the words, the ranks and the sizes.
The shape of the program is attracting me.
It shows that in the current English words, the most ‘popular’ word is THE.
I can see that I use lots of THE in my blog post.
It also shows that there are 86800 words are archived. And also you can interact with this program, such as the viewer can find some word that they want, and find the rank that the special word state.
And another interesting that I found in the statement of this datavisualisation, there are some words that relative to the culture, for example. ‘God’ is near to ‘begin’ and ‘start’. Me, as an international student, is also a good way to know the language that I’m studying now.
So I like the idea of this data visualisation.
Although, I think the words are too small to see except the first THE, so I think the promotion for this program is, to make them bigger.
It’s the only thing that I can think out has to be promoted.
week 10 idea about an online service
My idea is based on that people need their life to be more and more high class, which means that they do not feel like living in the same life style as the others. in this case, I have been thinking about that create a web-site to collect the ideas of decoration grapic design for their houses.
For the website, everyone could share their own ideas, such as what design style they would like to be in their houses. They could even upload some blueprints which show what exactly they like in the houses.
Then there will be a competition for the best design each week. How does this system work? The design works from individuals would be classfiled into stars. The highest mark for each work would get a five-star. Who is going to give the mark for the designs? Every visitor and competitor would have one chance to vote the works. At the end of the week, the design which gets the most stars would be the winner of the week. After that, we will help the winner get the copyright for his/her design, and try to sell it as well. (This is the process of collaborative filtering.)
Rules: 1. no copying from the others.
2. every compititor should provide as more information as possible for his/her design, such as the size of the house.
Problems: 1. the best design of the week may not the a fair outcome since everyone could access the voting process.
2. users would probably lose their interest.

Introduction:
As my Project is an online photography exhibition Black-and-white photographs, the way that how it can be best made available to the viewer is though Yahoo Flickr Photo Set. The purpose of this exhibition is to use this famous Flickr website (or in other words that is to use the Flickr website’s great reputation) as a powerful medium to offer other people who are interested in images and beauty of Black-and -white in our normal life.
Description:
In my particular work, it has been made the Black-and-white photographs, which have been taken by Anaer and Coraline, include pictures of scenery and people. Our idea: Sometimes, colors would cause the photo of the main weakening, although we could perform the subjects in perfect way. The use of black and white in performance would make subject more prominent. From my point of view, black and white pictures are more attractive.

Organization:
One thing about exhibition is that the size of the collection can’t be too small. This affects very much. A website with only a couple of images will not satisfy the audience it is supposed to be an exhibition. I collect 19 photos of our works with my descriptions and tags to make this exhibition. All the photos were organized by using the Flickr Photo Set System

Yahoo Flickr Photo Set is very handy as the tool to assist with creating and viewing collections and the photographs are all tagged in Anaer and Coraline works, so it is supposed to be easy to find on Flickr website.

so many new things
I have researched many kinds of resources that describe the RSS and HTML. Normally, the RSS is been said that it is a convenient tool to subscribe the news or blogs that i want to know on time. We have to use the code to describe it, and it will be shown in your own page. It is also a kind of XML, it is differ from the HTML. Last week, I learned a new thing called API. API=Application programming Interface. It sounds like a combination between two ‘faces’. It is not only works in web sense, but also it can combine the computer’s applications. It can access the data and show the particular functions. So as a website has a public API, so the user can use the API to extend the things what they want. It is very interesting. So you can see many different kinds of forms from one basic API. It also is a quick and convenient way to do things, especially it is connected the interface that you already enrolled. Another new thing is Mashup. It is like put all the application or data get together and fix them. It is easy to show many things in one flat, it’s a good way to save time and it can helps you to choose the information that useful to you. So we can see, the existentence of API and Mashup, you dont have to build new application, you just use the things other already have built. It is just change the way you think.
